April 2013

This month’s newsletter comes courtesy of the Membership Secretary.  It is a shorter one than usual because it comes with a warm invitation to attend the AGM on Thursday 18th April at 7.30 pm. in the Reading Room.  It is also time to renew your membership for another year and you can do both on the attached form. At £10 for the year it has to be the best bargain subscription in the village!

Were you born in Ninfield? or have you or someone you know lived here for many years? The History Group would like you to share your memories of village life in the 1930s to 1970s. This is part of our Heritage Lottery Funded project and we are recording memories and life stories of residents of Ninfield to learn more about the history of the village and for use as a resource for future historians. We will record you and you can choose to have the recording used as it is or to be converted to a written account (both can be anonymous if you prefer). If you would like to take part or help with recording people, please get in touch and call John Cheshire on 01424 892248 for more information.

Deeprose Village Map – We are currently updating the Deeprose map hopefully in time for copies to be available for sale at our Carnival Exhibition and to present to the Parish Council.  We urgently need someone with good drawing skills and if you have any suggestions of important village ‘characters’ for inclusion, please get in touch with Jan Cooper 893381 or Corinne Gibbons 892612.

NLHG Survey – We would be grateful if you could complete and return the attached activities survey for discussion at the AGM.

Looking forward to see you at the AGM
